Just another WordPress.com site

WOW!! what a long title!! lol

Having lots of fun editing this story with some wonderful help from my editors! Feels great to have people sharing my story and working with me to make it better!

On Wednesday, while I was off the Internet to protest against SOPA, I had some time to draw.

Here is my drawing for the heading of chapter 1!! I hope to have drawings for all 32 chapter headings. Maybe even some done by my buddies.

If you are interested in doing a black and white drawing for a chapter heading, please let me know and we will work together! I will credit you, of course! using the name of your choice. I encourage you to choose your favorite user name 🙂

The drawing is of the rocking chair I rocked my children in! Lots of very special memories.

I’ll Take BOTH!!

Just finished revising this!!

Still hoping it will work as part of my new story, but if even if not, it was FUN to know my characters love Minimonos and Tinkatolli too!! 🙂

Chapter ?

(not sure where this will go yet)

Let’s Take BOTH!

“Help, I need help,” Brad yelled as he pushed past Geremy.

“No, no, I need help more,” Geremy called as he forced his way past Brad.

They both fell over laughing and rolled into the living room.

          Maija smiled at them.

“Now what?” she asked as she finished stitching a bead on a black shirt.

The two boys helped each other up and sat on the big couch.

“You go first,” Brad said politely.

“No, no,” Geremy replied. “I insist you go first.”

          “Someone go first,” Maija laughed.

“OK,” Brad answered. “I need, I mean desperately need, help with my Eco project for Minimonos. I have like, totally no idea what to do.”

“I know exactly what I want to do for mine, but I need help with Tinkatolli. I need things for my project. I forgot to search for reusable stuff before the recycling truck came this morning!” Geremy sighed.

“Sometimes I wonder what kind of monsters we created when we let you loose on the Internet,” Kari commented as he joined the conversation. The large cat curled up on the small couch next to his mate.

“It was a real hard decision when you told us we could only join one virtual world!” Geremy answered. “We discussed what to do for days.”

“We both love Minimonos and Tinkatolli!” Brad explained. “They both have great staff that actually care about their users, and answer questions and fix things. And they both want us to do stuff in the real world. Some worlds only want our money!”

“But I think Tinka is better cause we have to make our own stuff. You know, collect the materials on the site and get the plans and put it all together. Not just go to Traders and buy it,” Geremy argued.

“But I have to recycle and clean up my lagoon after all the idiots fill it up with garbage. I got sea turtles now and sharks!” Brad countered.

“I think you made very good choices,” Anni said to stop the argument. “Minimonos teaches you about caring for the planet and Tinkatolli gets you thinking and moving and creating things.”

“Yup,” Geremy agreed. “We have accounts on both worlds so it’s fun to help each other out. I got the membership for Tinkatolli and Brad’s got Minimonos.”

“And I got nothing,” Clarence complained. He sat at the edge of the living room looking sad.

“What’s wrong?” Geremy asked his little brother. “You got the same choice we did.”

“Well I’m bigger now and I want to join too. I’m done with the worlds for babies,” Clarence explained. “I love making Tinkas and ‘member I helped you with that bed. And I wanna be on Minimonos and do an eco project. But I don’t know what I could do.”

“No worries, little buddy,” Geremy answered. “I need lots of help with my project. I want to clean up the creek on the other side of the railway tracks. It’s full of garbage. I’m going to see if the teen group will help me. I bet Minimonos would think it’s a big enough project for both of us!”

“Cool. Thanks,” Clarence replied with a smile. “I can help. I got those big boots now.”

“I don’t want anyone falling in,” Maija warned them. “I think we better organize some adults to help.”

“Sure,” Geremy agreed with a smile. “Let’s go talk to George and Martha. And we can see if they have any good junk for my project.”

“You wanted to make a beaded shirt, Brad. Maybe you could use that as an eco project?” Maija suggested as the boys pulled on their coats. “We buy lots of our beads from the Thrift shop, and you could find a used shirt you liked too. Just like I did with this one.”

“Great recycling idea,” Brad agreed. “Thanks.”

“I guess I better change your membership,” Maija offered. “So, Clarence, which world do you want, Minimonos or Tinkatolli?”

“Both!” Clarence declared with a grin.

          They all laughed.

“You have until the end of the month to decide,” Maija replied as she picked up another bead.

The three boys ran out the front door and slammed it behind them.

“Peace at last,” Kari said and started to purr.

“Not for long,” Maija replied as she picked up another bead. “But I wouldn’t trade them for anything.”

I am opposed to the Stop Online Piracy Act. On Wednesday January 18th I will be off the Internet completely and will not be posting anything new.

I have clearly stated several times that I welcome anyone to use my text or photos from my Blog as long as they identify them as my work and are not using them to make money.

For example, if you wish to use one of my flower photos to make a birthday card for your Aunt Mabel, and write on the back of the card, © Rosie Chucklebeary, I am delighted to help celebrate the occasion.

However, if you make 100 cards and sell them, I would consider taking action against you to enforce my copyright.

The person who creates something should be the one to benefit if they decide to sell it.

We have copyright laws. Perhaps they should be easier to enforce, but we do not require an entire new law with frightening powers that could shut down any site that contains copyrighted materials used without permission of the copyright holder.

I believe we should be more careful in what we post on the Internet and clearly credit people. Twitter is full of quotes without references.

I also believe schools should teach how to use copyrighted materials and how credit the right people.

The world is full of amazing and wonderful people and ideas. I have friends around the globe to share my stories with.

The Internet should be protected by all of us!

Find out what you can do to show the government we do NOT want this law!

I have rearranged my real life schedule a little and now plan to take Saturdays as my day off the computer, and my day of rest. We all need a day of rest every week – so I encourage you to plan one for yourself and your family to enjoy some time together!

This means I can now attend See You Sunday with Bananatastic on Minimonos for exciting news and updates. Lots of good buddies to visit with too! Had a great time with everyone this morning.

I also plan to do a Twitcam on Thursdays at 7 p.m. EST. Let me know if that time works out for you or suggest a better time and date. Thank you.

For my wonderful volunteer editors patiently (or impatiently) waiting for Mission 1 of ERROWS OF SPRING – I will be working hard on formating it today. I have to move all the chapters and other important things like the title page into one document and hope to have it finished and ready tomorrow.

Children of the Lamp

I finished up to book 6, The Five Fakirs of Faizabad, and see there is a 7th book!! So the series is continuing 🙂

Lots of FUN!! Exciting and well written. Give this series a good recommend!!

Did a quick update of my reading list!

Looking for Editors

I should have the first book in my series, ERROWS OF SPRING ready for editing in about 2 weeks!

I am looking for volunteer editors to help make 2 Tonnes of SISU even better.

WARNING!! 2 TONNES OF SISU CONTAINS REALISTIC SCENES ABOUT BULLIES AND CHILD ABUSE!!

INSIDE A WISH and CRISIS COMPANY are stories just for fun! 2 Tonnes of SISU deals with some tough reality. You may want to skip this story and enjoy the next books in the series, GO WESTY MAE and EXTRACTION: SANTA CLAUS, which are just for fun and will be published later in 2012!!

Here is some information to help you decide if you wish to be one of my volunteer editors:

Please let me know if  you are interested in helping me with 2 Tonnes of SISU.  I need 5 or 6 tween or teen readers to make sure the story makes sense and is believable.

You DO NOT have to check spelling or grammar but if you see any errors, please let me know.

Editors must be available to read 2 Tonnes of SISU about mid-January.

To be chosen as an editor you must be reliable (able to meet a deadline) and trustworthy (you MUST not share the story with anyone else without asking me). You must be able to communicate clearly verbally and/or in writing.

I allow at least one full month for editors to read my books.

An account on Skype would be helpful for discussions but is not essential. Your parents MUST approve using a webcam if you are under the age of majority. I know!! But I am always protective of anyone’s identity so please forgive me for acting like an old Granny!!

If you wish to apply – please send me a Twitter @chucklebeary or post a comment here on my Website. I will keep it confidential. We can then arrange a safe way for you to provide me with further information such as an Email address so we can exchange messages about the book.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR and welcome back to my story website/blog!

INSIDE A WISH and CRISIS COMPANY were published in 2011 and are available in Kindle and paperback editions. You can download both books from amazon.com for 99 cents each!!

You can find my books by visiting my author page on amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/Rosie-Chucklebeary/e/B006E6CKMA/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_pop_1

The Kindle edition of Inside a Wish is still my bext seller!! I find this very funny as so many people asked for “real” copies of my books. Hope you have your paperback copies of both my books!

I know many families are struggling financially so:

Your local librarian or school librarian can order copies from amazon.com at a very reduced price. That way, anyone can read my books for free!

You can also drop into your local book seller and ask them to order you a paperback copy of my books. You can pay them cash so you do not have to worry about using credit cards on the Internet.

My focus for Inside a Wish and CRISIS COMPANY is to share my stories. If I start making a profit on them, I will use the money for more contests and give-aways, as well as paying someone else to set up the Kindle editions and the printing for paperback editions of new stories.

This is time for family, friends and FUN!!

I will be back in January to tell you about my new plans and new stories!!

See you then!!

(Card created with http://www.yahoo.americangreetings.com/printables/index.pd)

Hope you can join me!!

Come and join us for some festive fun!

You do NOT have to be watching to win my contests!!
